Other than the orchid show, the Philippine Orchids Society also have a pet show last September 6 to 7, 2014 held at the Hardin ng mga Bulaklak in Quezon Memorial Circle. There were also some free lectures all week.
It was public voting. A Chow-chow won as the Most Desirable Pet, Cutest Pet and a Cockatoo won the Best Pet in the Show.
Even Bei-Ling (my Pekingese) was there to watch the show.
Frankly, I was a little disappointed in this event since nothing really special has caught my fancy. Being a pet enthusiast myself, I was thinking of something more exciting than the usual snakes, frogs, birds, lizards and dogs. No inverts, no exotics, scorpions, spiders... not even fancy mammals like hedgehogs, sugar gliders and even a pot bellied pig.
Not even a lot of dog breeds.
Maybe someday, the organizers should prepare the pet show, since they included it on their orchid show, they should also make it as interesting as the former.
